我们探索生物神经系统在网络层面上的定量规律,包括神经元群体编码、网络动态结构、及其发育过程。
实验研究对象为果蝇幼虫的嗅觉系统,其汇集了系统神经科学研究所需的多种优势:
神经元数量较少;
拥有几乎全脑的连接组学数据;
通体透明,方便在体全脑成像和长期追踪;
丰富的转基因品系和遗传操作工具。
我们在这个体系上具体研究:
动物体内外的信息如何被神经元的群体活动编码;
神经编码如何在网络中传播、整合和变换;
编码的变换如何通过特定的神经网络结构来实现;
网络的结构如何调整以适应环境及自身发育;
以上过程又如何影响动物的行为。
我们综合运用行为学、钙成像、光遗传学和微流控等实验手段,并结合建模和模拟开展研究。
我们将提供学科交叉融合、鼓励创新且支持合作的学术环境。
