Research Areas
1. Nucleoside analogs targeting respiratory viruses:The objective of the research is to design and synthesis novel and selective nucleoside analogs as inhibitors of polymerases of influenza, RSV, Human Rhinovirus, parainfluenza virus and other RNA viruses.
2. HSP90 inhibitors for cancer: HSP90s, as chaperon proteins are involved in many diseases associated pathways and inhibition of HSP90 found to be an important strategy for development of anticancer drugs. HSP90 inhibitors have been found particularly valuable in the treatment of ALK positive, KRAS positive lung cancer areas and other cancers. We are involved in the design, synthesis and conjugation of novel HSP90 inhibitor based cancer drug discovery.
3. COPD and Asthma exacerbation studies:HRV is often found among COPD and Asthma exacerbation patients and these exacerbations are important unmet medical needs in the world. We are designing potent HRV inhibitor for HRV and later investigate their effect in COPD and Asthma exacerbations.
4.IDO inhibitors for cancer:Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1),which catalyzes the initial and ratelimiting step of tryptophan along the kynurenine pathway, is expressed by tumorcells to escape a potentially effective immune response. We are involved in the design, synthesis and conjugation of novel IDO inhibitor based cancer drug discovery.
