About Xia

Ji-Bao was born in 1983 and raised in Linyi, Shandong, China. He completed his undergraduate studies at Shandong Normal University in 2005. Then he moved to Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry for graduate study and earned his Ph.D. in 2010 with Professor Shu-Li You. After postdoctoral training at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Professor Chuo Chen's lab, he began his independent academic career at Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), Suzhou Research Institute of LICP, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015. His research group focuses on synthetic methodology development and small molecular synthesis, particularly in the activation of small C1 molecules (CO and CO2) and inert chemical bonds (C–H and C–N) and their catalytic transformations.
