Dr. Hengshu Zhu is a Full Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Deputy Director for Academic Affairs at the Computer Network Information Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Previously, he held senior research and leadership positions at Baidu and BOSS Zhipin. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). He received his Ph.D. and B.E. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2014 and 2009, respectively. His research interests lie in AI and Data Science and their applications across diverse disciplines, with a focus on developing responsible and effective data-driven methods and solutions to advance scientific discovery and industrial innovation. He has published over 200 papers in leading journals and conferences, including Nature Cities, Nature Communications, IEEE TKDE, ACM TOIS, KDD, and SIGIR. He has held various academic service roles, including Editorial Board Member of npj Artificial Intelligence, Industry Chair of PRICAI 2022, Program Co-Chair of the KDD Cup 2019 Regular ML Track, and Co-Chair of international workshops such as OBTA, TMC, and AICS. His honors include the Grand Prize of the Ram Charan Management Practice Award (2018), recognition as an Intelligent Computing Innovator of China by MIT Technology Review (2024), and inclusion in the Stanford/Elsevier World's Top 2% Scientists ranking (career-long impact). He is the founding Chair of both the IEEE SA Scientific Data Working Group and Talent Service and Management Working Group, leading international standardization efforts, including the IEEE 3154 series.
