Research Areas
Lutan Zhao is a professor at the School of Cyberspace Security at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and a doctoral supervisor. His main research directions are computer architecture, hardware acceleration, general-purpose processor chips. In 2023, selected for the National Young Talent Program. He has published over 20 papers in architecture and security conferences and journals such as HPCA, MICRO, ASPLOS, IEEE TC/TCAD/TPDS, and S&P, including 14 papers classified as CCF Class A. He has received the IEEE TC/TPDS Journal Spotlight Paper Award and the Best Paper Award at APPT 2021. As a project leader, he has participated in the Chinese Academy of Sciences Strategic B-Class Pioneer Projects and the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Science Fund projects. As a principal investigator, he has been involved in National Key R&D Program projects and National Major Scientific Research Instrument Development projects. He has been invited to serve as a reviewer for internationally renowned architecture journals such as IEEE TC/TDSC and ACM TACO, and serves as a young editorial board member for the journal Journal of Information Security.
Education
We plan to recruit PhD and Master's students in the fields of computer architecture and cyberspace security.
Recruitment areas: confidential computing hardware acceleration and security of general-purpose processor chips.
Research in architecture covers a broad range of knowledge and requires extensive hands-on practice, so strong practical skills and a keen curiosity are essential!
We welcome students who have a strong interest in hardware accelerators, processor chips, and integrated circuits, and who possess strong self-motivation, to apply!
