Yujiang Xie received his Ph.D. from the University of Hamburg, Germany, in 2017. He then worked at the University of Hamburg (Germany), the University of Southampton (UK), and the University of Texas at Austin (USA). He was a guest investigator at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (USA) and a research visitor at Princeton University (USA). In 2025, he was selected for an Associate Research Scientist position at Columbia University (USA). In 2026, he joined the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) as an Associate Professor. His work has appeared in journals such as GJI and Nature. Several of his techniques have been adopted by industrial partners.

Multi-parameter seismic imaging and adjoint tomography, with applications in regional and global Earth’s interior.

Planetary science, physics of planetary interiors.
