He received his Ph.D. from the State Key Laboratory of Robotics, Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on robotics technology and applications, including exoskeleton robots, dexterous multi-fingered hands and intelligent control.

He has presided over 5 national and provincial research projects including General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and participated in a number of major national scientific research projects. He serves as a reviewer for renowned journals and conferences such as IEEE TMECH, TASE, RAL and ICRA.He has published more than 60 papers as the first or corresponding author, and holds over 80 authorized and pending invention patents. His current research interests lie in exoskeleton robots, human-in-the-loop interactive control and their applications.
