Research Areas

The drug discovery based on chemical biology

A chemical probe is one core element in chemical biology-based drug discovery, as a small selective molecular tool to investigate protein function, which is different from traditional genetic technologies. The development and proper utilization of chemical probes for important "undruggable" proteins can be used to describe phenotypes and mechanisms of small molecules-regulated proteins in biochemical, cellular and animal levels, promoting the discovery and validation of druggability of those proteins.Detail research interest including:

1. Chemical probes of key enzymes for RNA methylation modification.

2. Regulation of protein-protein interaction by small molecules in Ubiquitin-proteasome system for kidney cancer therapy.

3. New type of antibiotics and application of "nonantibiotic effect" in the prevention of pathogen infection.
