Bowen Yang, an associate professor and master's supervisor at the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He holds a PhD from the same institute (under the supervision of Shi Jianlin). His research primarily focuses on "nanocatalytic medicine", aiming to achieve disease treatment by constructing novel nanomedicines to trigger catalytic reactions at the lesion site and regulating local reactive oxygen species (ROS) concentration. In recent years, he has developed nanocatalytic antioxidant therapy, utilizing nanocatalysts to efficiently eliminate human ROS, thus realizing antioxidant treatment for cardiovascular diseases and various inflammatory conditions. As a corresponding/first author, he has published over 30 papers in journals such as J. Am. Chem. Soc. (4), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (5), Chem (2), Adv. Mater. (4), Nat. Commun. (2), Acc. Chem. Res. (1), and Chem. Rev. (1). Seven of his papers have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers, with a total citation count exceeding 5,000. He has received honors and awards such as the Special Award from the President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Spark Award for Young Chemists from the Chinese Chemical Society, and the Jingbo Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award. He has led a Youth Fund project from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and been selected as a Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Rising Star (Category A). He has been listed in the top 2% of Elsevier/Stanford University's list of world's top scientists for several consecutive years (2022-2025). The graduate students he assists in guiding have received awards or honors such as the National Scholarship, the Yan Dongsheng Scholarship, the Lan Chang Scholarship, and Excellent Student of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
