Research Interests
1. State-to-state dynamics of polyatomic molecule reaction by novel crossed molecular beam ion imaging machine
A novel crossed molecular beam apparatus has been constructed using time-sliced ion velocity imaging technique, by which velocity resolution can be as low as 1%. With the help of this machine, Differential cross section of polyatomic molecule elementary reaction is measured to record reaction dynamic information, which helps to understand the nature of chemical reaction, and step further for controlling chemical reaction progress.
2. Infrared Free Electron Laser
The tunability, high power and flexible short pulse time structure of radiation make the IR free-electron laser (FEL) a very attractive mid-IR and far-IR source of coherent radiation. It is composed of three main parts: electron accelerator, a magnetic wiggler, and optical resonator.
3. EUV Free Electron Laser (Dalian Coherent Light Source)
In DCLS 300 MeV electron beam with picosecond duration from normal conducting S band Linac is modulated at the first short undulator by the 100fs seed laser and radiate at the rest undulators at extreme UV range, which is High gain harmonic generation of seed laser(HGHG). DCLS will be a world leading FEL user facility in EUV range, providing the super bright and ultra-short laser beam with Fourier transform limited bandwidth. It will initializes many novel experiments in the different areas, such as energy science, advance material, atmospheric chemistry, surface science.Students
