Research Areas

Dr. Qin is currently the associate professor of Institute of Biomedical and Health Engineering at Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Qin obtained his PhD in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. During his doctoral study, he was sent to Stanford University in the United States to study the intelligence in medicine. Dr. Qin has been engaged in the research of medical image reconstruction, image segmentation and feature extraction for multi-modality medical imaging with machine learning and computer vision, which explores the new engineering theory and method of learning-based algorithm in clinical diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Qin is a principal investigator or co-investigator on National Key R& D Program of China, NSFC, Key R& D Program of Guangdong and Key Natural Science Foundation of Shenzhen and projects from other funding agencies and corporates, and an author on more than 50 peer-reviewed publications(SCI/EI), an inventor or co-inventor on 35 issued and 50 pending patents. He has received numerous Innovation and Entrepreneurship Awards.
