大家好,我的研究领域是“类脑脉冲神经网络”模型的基础优化理论研究以及“类脑芯片器件、类脑机器人”等应用。热衷于这个特殊脉冲模型的主要原因之一,是想通过研究生物系统来走捷径,让AI更快的达到类人程度的综合智能水平。经过了千百年的遗传进化,生物系统产生了多样的神经元、神经网络结构、优化方法等,并组合表达出了人类水平的高级认知能力,这也正是现今AI领域所一直不懈努力但却一直未曾达到的目标。与现有的基于深度学习的AI系统不同,生物系统的优化更多的是局部的简单学习法则,如脉冲时序依赖可塑性、短时可塑性、Hebb学习法则、网络稳态调节、兴奋抑制神经元类型调控等,具有节能、高效、自组织等特点。与之相比,人工智能领域广泛使用的深度反向传播(BP)并没有生物合理性,且在灵活性、能量消耗、通用性、鲁棒性等方面仍然表现欠佳。这不禁让我们思考,未来的AI优化路在何方。不妨设想,有没有可能通过纯生物机制的组合优化,实现与现有的AI相比,在更多方面达到或接近人类水平的智能呢?基于这个思路,我做了很多工作。如通过搜集生物学家发现的多类生物学习法则,整合构建出了一套基于多尺度可塑性的脉冲神经网络模型,涵盖了神经元级别、突触级别、微环路级别。一定程度上实现了基于纯生物法则的脉冲神经网络优化(无BP),在MNIST手写体数据集(以及其他时序如TIMIT、DVS-Gesture等)上,达到了较高正确率且具有低能耗、高鲁棒、强泛化性等特点。再如在认知机器人方面,我通过加入认知约束(如认知视觉、视听觉融合等),更好的提升了现有模型的认知能力,如不容易被攻击了、泛化性更好了、需要的样本更少了。我能够做出这些生物启发类的新工作,极大的得益于积极的和中科院上海神经所的诸多团队老师们合作,通过他们在猴子、小鼠等模型动物实验上发现的有益机制,来深入启发AI模型。同时为了弥补自己的生物知识不足,我积极的参与生物信息处理过程,如主导并解析了一个大鼠脑的全脑结构并将里面所有神经元可视化出来。我认为,AI和生物的密切结合,将为AI的进一步发展突破指明方向。这个过程中,要瞄准关键的科学问题,如我们基于多尺度可塑性的脉冲网络模型的成功优化,是否可以克服非凸、非连续网络表征的学习瓶颈,使得大规模的生物神经网络模拟、生物优化再学习、生物稳定功能表征(如分类能力、预测、存储、提取、时序规划)等成为可能,为下一步新一代的类脑AI新模型的构建打下基础。本人从2013年研究类脑模型开始,共发表论文约30多篇,含Science子刊(Science Advances,第一作者),IEEE顶刊(IEEE-TNNLS、IEEE-CYB等),AI顶会(AAAI、IJCAI等),Cognitive Computation、Scientific Reports、Frontiers系列等。我的工作受到了中科院战略先导计划A、中科院战略先导计划B、科技部2030国家新一代人工智能、教育部自然科学基金委等支持。未来我将借鉴更多的生物机制,研发出更好的类脑智能算法,并尝试搭载到神经形态芯片上,实现更广泛场景的实时在线、连续、强认知的信息处理。期待和更多同学同事合作,做出更好的研究。
