Research Areas

His research interests include:

​a) trustworthy large foundation model technologies, addressing critical challenges such as knowledge editing, contextual faithfulness, and safe generation.

b) methodologies for constructing and governing high-quality data, including big graph mining, approximation algorithms, graph compression, and summarization techniques.

     AGI fundamentally requires trustworthy model reasoning and high-quality data. Graph data serves as the foundational structure in numerous critical application domains, characterized by massive scale and intricate interactive relationships. Examples include human interactions in social networks, financial transactions between accounts, and protein interactions within cells.

   The featured works are published on IEEE TKDE, ACM TKDD, and proceedings of top-tier conferences such as AAAI, ACL, CIKM, WSDM, IJCAI and ECML-PKDD. Some of the publications are recognized as ASP-DAC 2010 best paper candicate, and ECML-PKDD 2020 best student DM paper award.

He is now a Professor at Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He spent his one-year sabbatical at Computer Science DepartmentCarnegie Mellon University (CMU), as a research scholar. He was hosted and supervised by Professor Christos Faloutsos.

He received his Ph.D. degree from Computer Science & Technology DepartmentTsinghua University in 2010, and visited Electronic Engineering DepartmentUniversity of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for more than a year as a Ph.D. student. He was hosted and supervised by Professor Lei He. He is in consequence listed as one of the Alumni in Academia by UCLA.
