Research Areas

His current research interests include big graph mining, time series mining, and designing intelligent & scalable algorithms for massive data. Graphs and series are fundamental representations of many key applications in a wide range of online behaviors (socializing, shoppings, media, etc), networks, circuits, stock tradings, and medical data. The related publications are on TKDE, AAAI, IJCAI, CIKM, PKDD, WWW, SDM, TCAD, TODAES, DAC, etc.

He is now an Associate Professor at Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He spent his one-year sabbatical at Computer Science DepartmentCarnegie Mellon University (CMU), as a research scholar. He was hosted and supervised by Professor Christos Faloutsos.

He received his Ph.D. degree from Computer Science & Technology DepartmentTsinghua University in 2010, and visited Electronic Engineering DepartmentUniversity of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for more than a year as a Ph.D. student. He was hosted and supervised by Professor Lei He. He is in consequence listed as one of the Alumni in Academia by UCLA.
