Xiangjin Shen, Ph.D., is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scientists, and is an outstanding member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He currently serves as Executive Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Wetland Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Wetland Ecology Committee of the Ecological Society of China. He serves as an Associate Editor of Land Degradation & Development, ‌and Frontiers in Plant Science,‌ and editorial board member of Science Bulletin. His research mainly focuses on wetland eco-climatology and the relationships between vegetation and climate change. He has led more than ten research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, subprojects of the National Key Research and Development Program of China, and the Jilin Provincial Natural Science Foundation. He has published more than 80 academic papers, including more than 50 SCI-indexed papers as first or corresponding author in journals such as Science and Global Change Biology. He won awards such as Dean Excellence Award of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Natural Science Award of Jilin Province, Science and Technology Award of Jilin Province, etc.
