a) Green separation technology for high-end target from Low concentration complex system (Eg: Lithium ions isolation, rare earth ions separation, and bio-products from fermentation liquid and natural products, noble metal ions from waste catalyst, et. al);
b) Design, preparation and application of novel adsorption materials and environmental responsive (light, redox, electrochemistry, magnetic, temperature, pH responsive etc) separation materials;
c) Magnetic novel catalysts preparation, separation and recovery technology in petroleum catalysis fields.

Yang Liangrong, Ph. D. in engineering, Professor of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Winner of National Science Foundation for Outstanding Young Scholars, Young chief scientist of National Key R&D Program from Ministry of Science and Technology, Director of Green Chemical Engineering Department, Institute of Process Engineering, CAS. She graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering of Tsinghua University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree, and graduated with a doctor's degree from the Institute of Processes, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010. She was a visiting scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2015. In 2021, she won the First Prize of Science and Technology from China Association for Instrumental Analysis (First Contributor). In 2020, she was selected as an outstanding member of the Youth Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2017, she won the Young Chemistry Award of the Chinese Chemical Society; In 2014, she won the second prize of the National Technological Invention (Third Contributor); In 2011, she won the first prize of scientific and technological progress from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (Third Contributor); In 2015, she was selected into the Youth Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; In 2013, she was awarded the Wang Kuancheng Education Fund Project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; In the same year, she was awarded the title of Outstanding Young Scientists from the Institute of Processes Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Her research interests focus on the novel green separation technology based on the nano-microstructure interface in order to solve the problems of low efficiency and high energy consumption for separating and concentrating target product from low concentration, large volume, and complex systems (enzymes and other biological products and metal ion systems). Including novel green separation processes and new separation materials, and the external field enhanced reaction separation technology, etc. which could be applied to the production of high-value products such as biological fermentation products, natural products, metal ions, and recyclable catalyst materials. She has taken charge of and completed large number of National Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Science and Technology projects, and large enterprise projects. She has published more than 130 papers (more than 60 papers as the first/corresponding author, 4 ESI highly cited papers, more than 90 SCI papers) with a more than 2200 times citation number by others, has applied for 1 international patent and More than 30 authorized Chinese invention patent, and has written 2 chapters in manuals and monographs.
