Research Areas

Focus on environment   policy, environmental process and control technology of persistent organic pollutants   (POPs). Important findings are summarized below.

l  Dr. Liu has   published 23 SCI papers as a corresponding author from 2017 to present.

l  Dr. Liu has   published more than 110 SCI papers, including 13 papers in   Environmental Science & technology. The   papers were cited by SCI more than 2700 times. In addition, 1 PCT patent,   many invention patents, 2 software copyrights, one standard were approved.

l  Dr. Liu drafted   the Chinese Inventory of Dioxin, which was adopted by the “POPs National Implementation   Plan of China” approved by the State Council of China;

l  Dr. Liu uncovered   dioxin formation mechanism and emission profiles in metallurgical processes   and chemical production, the findings of which were cited more than 10 times   by UNEP “Dioxin Toolkit”;

l  Dr. Liu invented   a calcium-based dioxin inhibition technology and developed demonstration in some   Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Plants to control the dioxins emission of   stack gas;

l  Dr. Liu   unearthed the environmental exposure risk of UP-POPs in the area surrounding   incineration plants, iron and steel production enterprises;

l  Dr. Liu   identified exposure risk of dioxins for the special crowds working in the   secondary metals production enterprises.
