1995年中山大学生命科学学院本科学习，2002年获中山大学生命科学学院硕士学位，2008年获中国科学院华南植物园生态学博士学位；2007年和2015年分别以访问学者身份赴加拿大Ablerta大学和美国密歇根州立大学开展合作研究。一直从事植物群落生态学的研究工作。近期侧重于群落物种多样性维持机制与生态功能定向提升技术研究。在理论上，借鉴美国Smithsonian研究院热带林研究中心（the Center for Tropical Forest Science，CTFS）大样地建设的思路和方法，建立了鼎湖山南亚热带常绿阔叶林20公顷样地，进行森林生物多样性形成维持的研究。近五年侧重于学科间的交叉，将群落生态学分别与无人机遥感技术、林冠塔吊监测技术、生理生态学、遗传生态学和分子生态学结合，探讨群落构建与物种共存。在技术上，针对粤港澳大湾区海岸带入侵植物对滩地、海岸台地和山地等生境的危害特征，建立了海岸带入侵植物梯级立体防控与水鸟栖息地恢复技术示范区，开展大湾区海岸带生态功能定向提升技术体系研发与示范。先后主持或参加国家科技部项目、国家自然科学基金、中国科学院B类先导科技专项、广东省自然科学基金、中国科学院创新领域前沿课题和中国森林生物多样性监测网络建设项目等。在国际学术期刊上发表SCI源刊论文60多篇，参与编写专著2部。
