研究领域

我的研究目标主要是为了探索暗物质和暗能量的基本性质。从博士研究生开始,我首先深入进行了宇宙大尺度结构和数值模拟的研究。通过数值模拟,我可以在计算机中构建出一个虚拟的宇宙,在其中统计性研究宇宙大尺度上的物质分布。虚拟宇宙中的物质分布则可以和实际观测的宇宙中的物质分布进行对比,并通过其中的信息了解关于暗物质和暗能量的性质。由于暗物质和暗能量占了宇宙总能量密度的95%,因此宇宙大尺度上的分布主要就由暗物质和暗能量调控。然而天文研究需要立足于观测,就好像物理研究立足于实验一样,仅靠理论计算和数值模拟是远远不够的。我在博后期间加入了BINGO国际合作组,正在巴西建设一个40米口径的射电望远镜,专用于进行21厘米谱线的观测,而我现在作为科学管理委员会的委员,领导数值模拟工作小组进行工作。21厘米谱线是中性氢原子超精细结构的谱线,因此可以示踪氢原子在宇宙中的分布,利用射电望远镜进行不同波段的观测,就好像是针对宇宙中氢原子的分布进行断层扫描。结合数值模拟和这种最新的观测技术和设备,我们有希望进一步推进对暗物质和暗能量的理解。同时我还参加了中国空间站望远镜的部分工作,对奇异的暗物质和暗能量相互作用进行数值模拟研究并提供科学预言。2021年我加入了中科院上海天文台,进入了SKA低频射电宇宙学的工作组。SKA全称是平方公里阵列射电望远镜,其中低频射电望远镜将建设在澳大利亚广袤的沙漠里,利用史无前例的超强探测能力,将探索宇宙黎明时期和再电离时期的21厘米谱线,寻找中性氢原子的分布。相信随着这些最新的望远镜设备的建成,我们将对于暗物质和暗能量的性质有突破性的发现。如果你对此也有兴趣,愿意投身天文探索与发现的浪潮中,不妨与我联系。

1. 你是个新导师,会不会经验不足?

答:我从博士三年级就开始协助指导一些本科生和研究生,从2020年开始,我每年指导约3名本科生进行科研实践。在BINGO国际合作组中,我指导从低年级到博士后的多名年轻研究人员进行研究(话说我自己也很年轻啊!),指导学生的经验实际上已经非常丰富了。

2. 你是个很push的导师还是放养的导师?

答:我自己攻读博士学位的时候,注意到了对于硕士和博士的培养要求,有一个大的原则。硕士应该能够在导师指导下完成科研项目,而博士应该能够独立完成科研项目。我认为研究生的主要工作动力来自于对于研究的兴趣,但是在实际操作中需要导师进行一定程度上的push,帮助你克服自身惰性,养成良好的研究习惯。如果你有自己的想法,有自己的工作安排,那么你可以自己探索,我会尽力提供你所需要的帮助,让你称为一个独立的研究人员。如果你自己还没有什么想法,那么我们不妨多讨论讨论,我会先提供一些能够上手的科研课题,帮助你了解科研的整个过程,慢慢获得自己科研的能力。所以,我会push,但是一定出于帮助你成长的目的。

3. 你会让我帮你干个人杂事吗?

答:自己的事情自己做。科研的事情大家一起讨论着做。我是生长在上海的本地人,如果你在生活中碰到一些困难,我可以为你提供一些力所能及的帮助。比如,在疫情期间,你能见到我穿大白给你做核酸。
