Research Interests

• Ecophysiology of soil microbial community. The mechanism that leads to the enormous diversity of soil microorganisms is one of the most fascinating questions. The highly divergent ammonia-oxidizing prokaryotes (Archaea and Bacteria) thus provide one a great model system in an attempt to deciphering this mechanism;
• The microbial biogeography. Using high-throughout sequencing techniques, we are tying to understand the distribution patterns of microbial community across space and time for a better understanding of their functional consequence on ecosystem functioning.
