Research Areas
My research focuses primarily on the neural mechanisms of visual processing in the human brain. Using behavioral tests, eye tracking, brain stimulation, and neural imaging techniques such as 7T fMRI and MEG/EEG, I investigate how visual information is represented in high-level regions such as the parietal cortex and temporal lobe. Furthermore, I am interested in how information in these regions interacts with early visual processing through a feedback mechanism. The feedback mechanism plays an important role in many cognitive functions, including attention control, working memory, and object recognition. My recent work has examined how feedback signals modulate and constrain neural encoding in the early visual cortex to support different functions in different visual processing pathways.
