He received the B.S. degree in geographic information system from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in signal and information processing from the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2012.,From 2012 to 2015, he was an Assistant Researcher with the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2015 to 2018, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the University of Idaho, USA. He is currently Associate Professor with the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Huo serves as Guest Editors for several journals and is a Reviewer for more than 15 international journals.
He is committed to applying advanced computer vision and machine learning technologies to remote sensing image analysis and understanding, and integrating multi-sourced data to solve problems in application fields such as natural resources monitoring and environment issues.
