Jingguo Ge is currently a professor of Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), and also a professor of School of Cyber SecurityUniversity of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Research Areas

His research focuses on Future Network Architecture, 5G, Software-defined networking (SDN), Network function virtualization(NFV), Block chain.


He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer System Architecture from the Institute of Computing Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003.


Since 2003, he has been with the Computer Network Information Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CNIC,CAS), where he was an Assistant Professor, became an Associate Professor in 2008, and a Professor in 2014. He was the deputy director of China Science and Technology Network (CSTNET), the basic network infrastructure for the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2008. He was responsible for the R&D and security department of CSTNET, where he manages a group of technical staff specializing in network management and security services and technologies. He has been the project leader of several national level research programs. As one of major contributors, he led the project Hierarchically Switched Network (HSNET), which introduces the hierarchy into the network topology and address to meet the requirements of high performance, scalability and manageability. He has worked on the project of Leading Edge Innovative ICT, which builds Future Internet Testbed based on Function Virtualization and Software Defined Network to improve new Internet Architecture, new techniques of Internet of things and Social media network.

He was a member of editorial board of the Journal of Software, the Journal of Network New Media and the Journal of E-science Technology & Application. He was the guest editor of the special issueBig Data Technologies and Applicationswith Wireless Networks journal, the special issue “High-Performance Computing for Big Data Processing” with Future Generation Computer Systems. He was a member of technical program chair of CANS 2006, BDTA 2018.
