Brief-biography

Yanan Fan received his BS degree from PLA Information Engineering university, Henan, China in 2007 where he was major at telecommunication engineering and his PhD degree in 2016 at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Beijing, China. Since then he has been with National Space Science Center (NSSC), CAS and currently is an associate researcher mainly works on advanced channel coding technologies for satellite and space communication systems. His research interests include satellite communication systems, forward error correcting codes especially low-density parity-check codes and turbo-like codes, iterative decoding algorithm and baseband signal processing for high data rate satellite communication. From 2013 to 2014, he was involved in the development of terrestrial payload integration testing system for SJ-10 which is one of the missions of CAS Strategic Priority Program on Space Science, he was responsible for the implementation of the LDPC decoder for the telemetry sub-system. Since 2015 he is active in CCSDS (Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems) C&S working group as an observer, and has made contributions on the advised decoding algorithms for the TC LDPC codes. Currently, he is funded by NSSC and CAS working on the design of flexible rate-compatible LDPC codes for VCM/ACM scheme, the implementation of unified decoder for CC, turbo and LDPCs, and space spectrum sensing.
