​  主要从事纤毛虫原生动物分类学、个体与系统发育研究，开展大量工作，主持并参与多项科研项目。目前，已发表科研论文36篇，其中31篇被SCI收录，5篇被CSCD收录；26篇首作者或通讯作者文章发表于本领域主流刊物上。据Web of Science形成的引文报告：被引频次合计475，去除自引为416，h-index为16。在北黄海、东海、南海的潮间带、红树林湿地、河口滩涂、养殖区等多种生境展开纤毛虫区系研究，报道近30个新种，建立1个新亚目、2个新属和1个新组合；揭示20余种纤毛虫的个体发育模式，完成百余种纤毛虫DNA素材建库和多基因序列测定，为阐明相关类群系统演化中的混乱、长期未明的悬疑，提供可靠数据支持；同时，开展黄海和东海潮间带纤毛虫物种多样性和群落结构及时空演替的研究。
