Associate director of the Animal Genetic Resources Bank, Germplasm Bank of Wild Species.

Research Areas

Research and development of the technical system for the preservation of animal genetic resources

Relying on China's first large-scale scientific facility in the field of life sciences - the China Southwest Wild Biological Germplasm Resources Repository, I focus on key biodiversity regions such as the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and the mountainous areas in the southwest, and develop a technical system for collecting, preserving, and utilizing precious animal germplasm resources. By establishing a quality management system for the resource repository, building an automated sample library, designing and developing an animal germplasm resource information management system and database, we achieve one-to-one correspondence among "specimen information - organizational sample information - images - barcode sequences", and form an information-based, automated, and standardized management plan for the animal sample repository.

Education

2008-2012, Bachelor degree, Life Science, Shanxi University

2012-2019, PhD degree, Genetics, Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Research Areas

Research on Wildlife Identification and Genetic Assessment

Based on the rich collection of animal specimens, I utilize deep learning technology to conduct molecular identification marker screening for domesticated animals and their wild relatives, including wild, hybrid, and domesticated individuals. We develop a probe pool and analysis process for the mitochondrial genomes of rare and endangered wild animals, enabling batch sequencing of multiple species and multiple individuals. The research results serve to accurately identify wild animal species and assess genetic diversity.
