长期从事成像遥感信息处理、成像目标智能识别、卫星遥感地面系统设计，从返回式向数字传输式、陆地资源普查向详查、单星成像向编队成像、稳态成像向动态成像、单星单系统向多星一体化系统的转变，历经我国遥感卫星地面系统建设的多次跨越，先后主持了我国多颗具有里程碑意义的高分辨率光学、雷达卫星数据处理和应用系统设计，综合利用“信号处理、大数据分析、计算机科学、摄影测量、机器学习”等跨学科技术，实现全球对地观测数据处理的高精度、信息提取的智能化、复杂系统运行的自动化。
