Research Interests

Metabolic disorders are the hallmarks in many diseases. Dr. Zhou's current research is mainly on developing MR approaches to target important molecualr components and their metabolic processes in vivo. But MR spectroscopic methods are quite limited by their low signal sensitivity. Chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI is a fast growing approach that allows enhanced detection of molecules at low concentration. Dr. Zhou's lab has been exploring CEST-related meachanisms, methodology and applications. And at the same time, he is also interested in other MR techniques and applications.
