Research Areas

  1. Laser nuclear physics: using the extreme plasma environment induced by strong laser to carry out nuclear (astrophysical) physics research, is a new and emerging frontier basic interdisciplinary discipline. It involves three basic disciplines of laser physics, plasma physics, nuclear physics, and their interdisciplinary disciplines of laser plasma, nuclear astrophysics, photonuclear physics. Based on the plasma produced by strong laser, various stellar environments, hydrogen bomb explosion center, fusion reactor and other extreme environments can be simulated in the laboratory, and various ultra-strong ultra-short pulse particle sources (n, p, γ, e, etc.) can be provided for basic and frontier application research.
  2. Photonuclear physics: using monoenergetic γ to induce nuclear photonuclear reactions, various excited state nuclear structure studies can be carried out.
  3. Heavy ion nuclear reaction: using accelerator, carrying out nuclear reaction of radioactive nuclide and stable nuclide, studying various nuclear reaction mechanisms.
