Research Focus

  • Global Change ​ and food security

Research Contribution

  • Clarified the phenological process and regional differentiation of China's main crops (wheat, maize, soybean) in the past 30 years; quantitatively distinguished the effects of climate change and agricultural practice on crop growth, analyzed the impact of climate change on crop yields and provided theoretical support for future scientific research.

  • Optimized biophysical process of crop models, adjusted the algorithms and parameters of soil and crop management measures modules, established a large-scale gridded crop model parameter database, and increased the simulation accuracy and improved the applicability of crop models.

  • Developed a multi-scenario and multi-model ensemble probability method for the crop yield prediction with increasing global temperature and growing CO2 concentration, and reduced the uncertainty of the analysis of the impact of climate change on agriculture. The proposed zoning optimization measures provided a decision-making basis for regional agricultural management.
