Dr. Liu focuses on studies to link plant ecology, geography and phylogeny together to know how plants adapt, distribute and evolve through their functional traits (mainly plant hydraulic traits) and climatic niches. She is using methods including lots of phylogenetic models, ecophysiological experiments and geographic data analyses.
