POWER ELECTRONICES SYSTEM , ELECTRIC MACHINE DESIGN AND CONTROL

Prof Haiping Xu has been with the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the Director of Department for Energy Efficiency & Reliability Engineering，vice director of Electric Vehicle Research Center. He has been the Principle Investigator (PI) and co-PI of more than 40 national key projects supported by Ministry of Science &Technology of China and Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a senior member of the China Electrical Society, Senior member of the Solar Power Association of China, and member of IEEE Society.

Prof Xu received his Ph.D. degree from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.  From 2005 to 2007, he has been a Postdoctoral research fellow at Michigan State University, USA.  From 2007 to 2008, he has been a Postdoctoral research fellow at University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA，cooperated with Professor Thomas. A. Lipo (Academician of National Academy of Engineering, USA, IEEE fellow)

Prof Xu has published over 100 technical papers in journals and conference proceedings, and owned 10 national patents of invention. His research interests include Power electronic converter/inverter, Permanent Magnet machines, high power AC motor drives, Reliability Engineering and applications on electric vehicle, energy storage and renewable energy systems.
