主要研究内容为电子冷却理论与技术，依托国内外大科学装置开展完成了一系列前沿理论和实验研究:

1.创新提出并发展带色散电子冷却机制，有效解决了电子冷却中固有的速率不均衡问题；自主开发冷却模拟程序TRACKIT，首次引入电子束空间电荷、束束散射等效应，成功解释多个新物理现象并指导多个前沿实验；

2.参与完成了兰州HIRFL-CSR上国际首个脉冲电子束冷却实验，以及美国BNL国际首个基于射频加速的电子冷却LEReC项目，同时负责完成了美国电子离子对撞机EIC基于电子储存环的高能冷却方案设计；

以第一作者和主要成员身份在PRL、PRAB、NIM A等期刊发表论文20余篇。

目前正在负责完成中国电子离子对撞机EicC高能束流冷却的方案设计，其它研究主要包括加速器束流动力学、电子加速器、极化束动力学、加速器缪子源等。
