围绕浮游动物生态学主要开展两个方面的研究:

1气候变暖与其他多重环境胁迫对群落结构影响的模式和机理研究,结果可指导气候变化背景下湖泊生态系统保护和管理。

2浮游动物的反捕食防御策略研究,回答动物如何应对捕食,完善基础生态学理论。
