General

Dr. Zhang joined the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) with the honor title of “Hundred Talents”. He is currently working as a Director and Principal Scientist in the Organic Energy Materials Research Group, Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (Guangzhou,  China). Dr.Lingzhi Zhang's current research focuses on developing of electrolyte materials, conjugated conducting polymers, and nanostructured materials and their composites as electrode materials for the applications of lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors and organic solar cells. He has published 100 scientific papers, and holds 12 USpatents and 30 Chinese patents. 12 patents were transferred to the industry ( Casnovo New Materials Co., China; Silatronix Inc., US).

       Dr. Zhang obtained his Ph.D. degree from Sun Yat-Sen University (Guangzhou,  China) in June, 1997.  Since then until September 2000, he worked as Lecturer/Associate Professor (promoted at Apr. 2000) at the Institute of Polymer Science, Sun Yat-Sen  University.  From 2000-2009, he worked as a postdoc or assistant scientist in National Taiwan Univeristy, CNRS ( Institute of Chemistry at Rennes, France), City University of New York (2003-2004), and University of Wisconsin-Madison (2005-2009).
