Yaoming Ma is professor of land-atmosphere interaction and Atmosphere Boundary Layer (ABL) meteorology in the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ITPCAS). He has lead or coordinated many national and international research programs. He has been actively involved in many land surface experiments in China (GAME/Tibet, CAMP/Tibet, and TORP etc.). He is still in charge of the long term atmospheric-land interaction monitoring on the Tibetan Plateau. As a chairman, he organized more than 20 international conferences and made more than 30 invited talks at international conferences. Since 2001, seven international symposiums on energy and water cycle in the Tibet Plateau were organized by Yaoming Ma in China. He has published more than 390 peer-reviewed research papers and significantly contributed to the international cooperation on the study of land-atmosphere interaction and atmospheric boundary layer processes and atmospheric boundary layer processes in the Tibetan Plateau and nearby higher elevation regions.
