Research Areas

Geophysics

The theory of seismology and exploration seismology research. Research interests include regional seismic facies and seismic wave propagation, the earth's crust rugged surface statistics, response characteristic and strong ground vibration wave field simulation, three-dimensional seismic observation system design of the exploration, the seismic simulation and complex structure imaging, the generalized nonlinear seismic inversion and reservoir prediction of risk assessment, the deep structure of high voltage of inversion and seismic response characteristics, etc. Main research in computational seismology direction boundary element method, the generalized Lipmann - Schwinger integral equation method, the partition inhomogeneous wave simulation, rugged surface wave scattering, the Born sequence of integral equation approximation, medium and expression of the scale of the wave field, etc..

Experience

Li-Yun Fu Professor in seismology, Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After receiving a BS (1985) in geophysics from China Chengdu College of Geology, Li-Yun Fu commenced his research career with the China Offshore Oil Exploration & Development Research Center and obtained his MS (1992) and PhD (1995) in geophysics at China University of Petroleum. From 1995 to 1997, he was a postdoctoral fellow in engineering mechanics, Tsinghua University, Beijing.
In 1997, Li-Yun moved to the Institute of Tectonics, University of California, Santa Cruz as a researcher, investigating Lg phases in the crust and simulating crustal wave propagation. Li-Yun joined Australia CSIRO in August 1999 as a scientist staff and worked on geopressure based on acoustics.
In 2004, Li-Yun joined Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences to head seismology group. He is a member of SEG, AGU, and SSA. He has authored and co-authored a number of journal papers and book chapters
