1999年获中国科学院地理所地图学与地理信息系统博士学位。

中科院地理科学与资源研究所知识创新基地副研究员,硕士生导师,中国地理信息系统协会理论与方法专业委员会的委员 

1999至2002年作为招聘科学家在日本宇宙开发事业团(NASDA)EORC进行研究和开发工作。
2002年3月回所在资源与环境信息系统国家重点试验室工作。

科研项目
主持和参加了多项国家、省部和国外科研项目。曾获国家科技进步二等奖、中国科学院自然科学奖一等奖,和2项郑州市科技进步三等奖。目前在研项目主要包括:
1、 主持国家863项目“DMC+4小卫星数据产品深加工软件开发与应用系统集成”。
2、参加973项目“空间数据认知模式与海量空间数据库知识发现”。
3、参加国家环保局项目“环境与灾害监测预报小卫星星座环境应用原型系统设计与先期研发”。
