主要开展以新型生物功能材料设计与合成为基础的生物医学工程/纳米材料的分子影像学研究，特别是高灵敏度核磁共振/荧光分子探针、靶向性小分子多肽、智能纳米载体材料等在核磁共振成像、光学/X-光射线活体成像中用于重大疾病诊断及干细胞成像示踪的分子影像学研究。

自2000年参加科研工作以来，先后在中国科学院大连化学物理研究所、加拿大和美国的大学从事发光材料/生物分子探针和分子影像学的研究工作，参加过中科院/国家自然科学基金以及美国健康研究院等10余项基金项目的研究。目前正在承担中国科学院大连化学物理研究所“****”启动基金，100万，3年。
