My research interests have been in petroleum geology, currently focusing on numerical modeling, geopressuring, and hydrocarbon migration and accumulation.

  • Sep. 1991 - May 1994 Ph.D postgraduate student of geophysics, in the Centre Geologique et Geophysique du CNRS (Centre National de Recherche Scientifique), Montpellier II, France. Ph. D. Degree obtained date: May 9, 1994 
  • Jan. 1985 - June 1986 Assistant Lecturer of petroleum geology in the Department of Geology, Northwest University, Xi'an, China; taught on: petroleum geology. 
  • June 1986 - June 1989 Lecturer of petroleum geology in the same department; taught on: petroleum geology, fluid pressure and compaction. 
  • Jan. 1985 - Jul. 1989 Research Worker, in the Department of Geology, Northwest University, China; worked on: the argillaceous sediments compaction and overpressures 
  • July 1989 - July 1991 Visited Fellow, in the Centre Geologique et Geophysique du CNRS, France; worked on: the numerical sedimentary basins modelling; 
  • May 1994 – June 1996 Post Doctoral: in the Geofluides, Bassins Eau du CNRS, France; working on: sedimentary rocks' properties and compaction processes; 
  • June 1996 - today Research Fellow: Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese academy of sciences. Interested on:  
    - hydrocarbon accumulation and associated fundamental geological problems; 
    - abnormal pore pressure occurrence and pressure distribution; 
    - basin modelling.
