1990年大学毕业后到中国科学院长春人造卫星观测站工作，作为访问学者到日本通信综合研究所（CRL）和奥地利Graz站从事研究工作。现任中国科学院国家天文台长春人造卫星观测站党委书记、副站长，主要从事卫星激光测距技术及应用研究。
