EXPERTISE AND RESEARCH INTERESTS

1) Data model and data structure of new generation GIS, 3D GIS data model and data structure, and dynamic GIS data models;
2) Spatial data analysis models, geometric computation, 2D/3D GIS fundamental operations, e.g., geometric intersections of 2D/3D primitives (point, line, polygon and polyhedron), 2D/3D buffering, etc.
3) Applications of GIS and remote sensing on environment monitoring: remote sensing imagery classification, change detection, remote sensing of wetlands, landscape modeling and landscape pattern analysis.
