Research Areas

     Porous organic cages (POCs) are discrete macromolecules, assembled from purely organic synthons by covalent linkages with intrinsic cavities, have shown potential applications in many areas. However, most reported POCs were assembled from dynamically reversible imine covalent linkages, of which the metastable nature make them unstable in humid as well as harsh chemical conditions, severely restricting their extensive researchs and practical applications. Therefore, developing chemically stable POCs by stable covalent linkages is high demand to promote the development of these porous materials in different fields. We focus on ultrastable POCs, incluiding (1) Transformation of imine into other chemically stable linkages, such as cyclizations imine bonds into oxazole, thiazole, imidazole, indazole, tetrahydroquinoline; (2) construction of POCs based on highly chemically robust linkages, such as C=C, triazine, dioxin and N=N bonds.
