Experience

Lingwei Kong obtained his BSc degree in Mineral Processing Engineering from Wuhan Institute of Chemical Technology, China, in 1990, his Master degree and PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics (IRSM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China, in 1993 and 1997, respectively. He was employed by IRSM immediately after his Master degree as an Assistant Engineer, and trained in in-situ testing at Fugro Geotechnical Services (HK) Ltd from October 1994 to April 1995. He obtained the position of professor of IRSM in 2000, worked in Ecole des Ponts ParisTech (ENPC), France as a senior visiting scholar in 2003, and has been vice director of IRSM from 2005 to 2014.
