主要致力于空间物理、高能天体物理、高能辐射探测技术等领域的研究。

目前担任“引力波暴高能电磁对应体全天监测器”(GECAM)卫星副总师兼有效载荷总师、DRO卫星伽马射线暂现源监测器(GTM)载荷总师,中国空间站“高能辐射探测设施”(HERD)有效载荷副总师、空间新技术试验卫星HEBS(GECAM-C)载荷总师。曾担任“电磁监测试验卫星”(ZH-1)有效载荷高能粒子探测器(HEPP)主任设计师,并参加过阿尔法磁谱仪II,神舟二号/XD,硬X射线调制望远镜等多个航天项目。GECAM卫星有效载荷采用了新型晶体匹配硅光电倍增管、在轨触发定位、北斗短报文准实时下传、自动增益控制等创新技术,其综合性能指标达到国际同类卫星中的领先水平。ZH-1卫星HEPP由六种探测器组成,使用ASIC实现多路复杂信号处理,其综合性能指标达到国际同类探测器的先进水平。作为项目负责人设计研制了我国第一台空间硬X射线探测器地面标定装置HXFC,其综合性能指标达到国际同类设备中的先进水平。完成了我国第一台大型X射线地面标定设备“高能所百米X射线标定装置”的设计,成为世界三大同类标定设备之一。先后承担国家自然科学基金项目、星火科技计划项目、中科院先导专项等多个研究项目。曾获国防科技进步二等奖、中国计量测试学会科技进步一等奖等奖项。

曾访问法国国家核物理研究所、美国杰斐逊国家实验室、德国马普地外物理研究所。目前担任Radiation Detection Technology and Methods杂志编委。GRLJGRNIMA、ApJ等杂志发表SCI/EI论文八十余篇,指导培养研究生十余人。
