研究领域是水文水资源。主要研究方向包括界面水文过程、水文要素的时空变化、气候变化和环境变化的生态水文响应、生态需水量和水资源,集中研究无测站或稀缺站点地区或流域的包括水量、水质、环境流、生态水文响应、水资源在内的水文要素的预报和估算。
