Research Interests

Molecular mechanism of thigmomorphogenesis

Plant responses to very subtle stimuli, like touch. Touch-induced growth alterations are called thigomorphogenesis. Thigmomorphogenic plants have enhanced resistances to herbivore and pathogens. Jasmonate pathway is required for thigmomorphogenesis: JA-deficient or JA-insensitive plants are not sensitive to touch. Meanwhile, touching reduced the giberrellin levels of plants. We are investigating how JA-GA crosstalk shapes thigomorphogenesis.
