Research Areas

Our research interests focus on the chemsitry invovled in thorium-uranium fuel cycle, including the chemistry of actinide and fission product that affects the operation of molten salt reactor, the separation behaviors between fission product and actinide, the performance of  fission product and actinide when they are reused as new fuels and in other areas such as energy, enviroment and health. By using a number of synthetic, spectroscopic and electrochemical methods, we try to get a comprehensive understanding regarding the effects of actinide and fission product on a series of processes, and how their behaviors are correlated with the structures of these complexes in molten salt and other medium. The research results will help improve the safety of molten salt reactor while in operation, develop more efficient strategies for actinide-fission product separation under molten salt enviroment and open new areas for the applications of actinide and fission products,
