Reserch Interests

Dr. Prof. Dawei Shen was born in 1980, Jiangsu Province, China. He received his B.S. and PhD. degrees in condensed matter physics from the Department of Physics of Fudan University in June 2003 and June 2008, respectively.  From Dec. 2008 to Dec. 2010, he carried out post-doctoral work in Department of Physics of Cornell University. There, he developed the first and unique integrated oxide molecular-beam epitaxy and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) system to investigate the novel engineered quantum states of matter, which is the blind spot of traditional ARPES study.  He was an associate professor (Jan. 2011~ Dec. 2015) and now is a full professor (Jan. 2016 ~ present) at State Key Laboratory of Functional Materials for Informatics of SIMIT, in charge of the development of the in-situ ARPES beamline at SSRF. As the principal investigator, he is responsible for the Major National project, the National Natural Science Foundation project, and the Pre-research project of CAS. So far, he has been authored or co-authored over 50 papers published in top peer-reviewed journals, e.g., Nature materials, Nature communications, PRL and PRX, which have been cited over 1600 times.
