Professor Yang Cuihong is the Guan Zhaozhi chair research fellow at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and professor of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences(UCAS). She obtained her Ph.D degree on management science & engineering at the Institute of Systems Science of CAS in 1999, and started her research career as a faculty member at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of CAS. She spent 3 months at the Department of Economics, University of Rissho in Japan in 2005. From Sept. 2007 till Feb. 2008, she was a visiting scholar at the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Groningen, the Netherlands. She is a Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) for the advancement of science in developing countries/regions. She is currently the vice president of International Input-output Association(IIOA) and the executive vice president of Chinese Input-output Association(CIOA).

Professor Yang's research areas including input-output technique, global value chain and trade in value-added, industrial relocation, and economic forecasting. She has published more than 90 articles in referred journals including Economic Systems Research, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Nature Communications, China Economic Review, Journal of Industrial Ecology, Applied Energy and among others. She has submitted 78 policy reports based on their research. Some of the suggestions were adapted into government economic policies.
