Research Areas

Research areas:

The research in our group is mainly focused on solar energy to chemical energy conversion to produce solar fuels, i.e., artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis for energy conversion. The current research activities include:

1) Photocatalytic,  photoelectrocatalytic or electrocatalytic splitting of water.

2) Photocatalytic, photoelectrocatalytic or electrocatalytic conversion of CO2to chemical fuels.

3) Photocataltyic, photoelectricatalytic or electrocatalytic green synthesis of value added chemicals.

4) Electron transfer and energy transfer mechanism in artificial photosynthesis.

5) Advanced spectroscopy for the study of photocatalyst, such as EPR, XAS (XANES and EXAFS).

Scope of recruitments:

Graduate students3/year

Direct PhD, MS-PhD,PhD students2/year. The student will have the basic course at the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei and come to Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics for the Laboratory work till graduation.


Jointly educated students

Postdoctors: Salary is ca. 10,00,00 RMB/year for a general postdoc or 20,00,00 RMB/year for a iChEM and DICP super-postdoc.

Foreign students: Salary isca. 3000 RMB/M for a general PhD student and 8000 RMB/M for a TWAS scholarship
